Microbes constantly change the environments they inhabit, and that is also true of pathogenic bacteria that inhabit the human body or the bodies of other vertebrates.
Our lab is investigating the interactions between respiratory pathogens such as Haemophilus influenzae and human respiratory epithelia.
Our goal is to find new ways of combatting respiratory infections, both acute and chronic, by providing detailed insights into how the bacteria and human cells interact at the molecular level.
Our laboratory is located at the beautiful St. Lucia campus of the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. We are part of the research-intensive School of Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences.
